Pornography is a pretty tacit topic in our society. Not many people talk about pornography, but countless people- specially couples are trying to deal with its affects. Studies suggest that porn really does affect relationships.
Few people consider porn as a source of entertainment. They argue that pornography is just a part of our society. According to this group, watching porn is not a big deal. Whereas, there is another group of people who get affected by porn directly, or indirectly.
According to various studies, porn is highly addictive, and its addiction can lead to adverse mental health problems like getting aggressive, anxious and depressed. Not only does a porn addict have negative affects on his health, it is reported that women who discover their partner’s involvement in pornography experience tremendous amounts of fear and anxiety.
On one hand, women are experiencing fear and anxiety, and on the other hand, men are struggling with compulsive behaviors and other mental health concerns like depression and anxiety.
And that’s not all. Porn can even wreck your real sex life. Studies have proven that being presented with perfect, airbrushed, idealized, and mostly fake images of the opposite sex tends to change your expectations about your partner. No matter how unrealistic it is, but you start judging real people’s appearance harshly. You start to become dissatisfied with reality, because it’s less intoxicating than porn.
These negative affects of porn are making relationships suffer, therefore it is highly advisable to stop, or limit watching porn.
