Breaking up is hard to do; You don’t know what would be the reaction of the person you are breaking up with. It can start a war, or result in creating a pool of tears in front of you, or you might even be surprised by a “thank god you said it, I could not decide how to say this to you’ reply. And therefore, it is very important to say the right things while breaking up.
These are the most common things said by people while breaking up. Just about all of us have heard, or even said, at least one of these things while ending a romantic relationship.
1. I don’t deserve you.
I deserve someone better.
2. It’s not you, it’s me.
What they mean: Of course it’s you, I just don’t want to make it worse for you.
3. You would never find someone like me.
Well, that’s the point!
4. We’re not meant to be.
What they mean: Because I don’t have a reason to break up, so let me just blame it all on fate.
5. We’re very different people.
Wait! Didn’t they say “opposites attract”?
6. You’re too good for me.
What they mean: I’m actually looking for someone a little bad. (If you know what I mean)
7. Let’s just be friends.
What they mean: So now that we are friends, I will expect you to be open to some occasional hanky-panky.
8. I love you, but I’m just not in love with you.
Now what the f*** is that supposed to mean?
9. It’s all my fault.
Of course, it is your fault.
10. This is harder for me than it is for you.
For real? Then why the hell are you breaking up with me?
