This world has it’s own standards of femininity and it does not miss a chance to tell women what appropriate behaviour is. This is not something that is happening in today’s culture but even in 1920’s women were asked to sit and stand in a particular way to be portrayed as decent.

If there are rules to stand with a chair then definitely there are for sitting on it.
There is a way to cross legs…we mean cross your feet instead.
And don’t hook your toes behind chair legs. It does not look ‘graceful’.
When will days come when women won’t be told how to sit and how to stand. Why is this society so good at telling girls the rules and regulations, the do’s and dont’s. Will there be a time when women can be the way they are, without any expectations of being graceful from them.
