May 2008, nation was shocked by the brutal murder of Aarushi Talvar and the house help Hemraj Banjade. The nation could not believe how a 14 year old was killed in her house, on her own bed while her parents were sleeping peacefully in the room next door.
Police came, did their investigation. Case was handed over to CBI for further investigation and to find out who was behind the cold blooded double murder. Authorities were doing there work, meanwhile, a lot had been said about the Talvar family. A lot of gossip was going on about the members of the family and also about, now dead, Aarushi Talvar. The gossip was being shown at national television 24*7, so that the justice could be delivered or may be for the TRPs.
A movie(Talvar, directed by Meghna Gulzar), a book(Aarushi, written by an investigative journalist, Avirook Sen) and now a podcast has been made based on the set of events that happened in the case. Discussions are going on, on the Facebook page, Free The Talvars. The evidences presented in the court are being questioned and an appeal has been made for the justice which has been denied from the Talvars.
In one such appeal Aarushi Talvar’s grandfather wrote an open letter stating he might not be able to see Rajesh and Nupur out of jail while he is alive. He talks about Aarushi in that and just questions what has been happening in the country.
