A 22 year old woman reported against a doctor for sexual assault after she was sedated with morphine. An emergency physician, Dr David Newman, of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York is accused of ejaculating on a patient’s face while she was incapacitated.
The woman told police that she came to hospital with a shoulder injury. She was allegedly seen by two nurses in a private room, who gave her morphine and asked her to change into a hospital gown. She removed her shirt and bra and prepared for an x-ray.
She added after this Dr Newman came and gave her another shot of morphine despite her protests. She says he then fondled her breasts after she told him she was experiencing pain on the right side of her chest. It was also claimed that he then moved her bed away from the wall and turned his back on her and she then heard sounds of someone masturbating.
She felt semen on her face which was later wiped off with a blanket but was unable to move due to heavy medications.
According to Daily News the woman was woken up by a nurse and another physician, Dr Andrew Jagoda. She walked into the bathroom and spotted what appeared to be semen on her face and bare chest. She told police she wiped it off with a gown, which she then placed in a plastic bag along with the bedding.
A statement issued by hospital authorities said, “We are aware of an allegation that has been made against one of our physicians. This is a matter under investigation and we are fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities. We take this matter very seriously and are conducting our own internal investigation.”
