Anupam Kher, being one of the panellists at the Telegraph National Debate 2016, severely criticized Kanhaiya Kumar, the Congress party and the entire intolerance brigade. He literally owned the moment with his fiery speech!
The actor started the speech by taking on the former Supreme Court Judge Asok Kumar Ganguly, who called the Supreme Court judgement in Afzal Guru case wrong. “I am shocked, ashamed and saddened by what you said being a judge you say that the Supreme Court judgement was wrong,” he said.
In his powerful and impacting speech, he pointed out that the word “intolerance” was being marketed because the opposition does not have any other issue to raise and use against PM Modi.
He added that, “The day Rahul Gandhi will become even 1/10th of what PM Narendra Modi is, I would vote for him.“
He also said that people like Sadhvi and Yogi should be jailed and thrown out of BJP.
He finished the speech by saying, “My friends, this is a great country. Let’s tolerate the intolerance of these people. Thank you very much!”
