Trailers being launched at parties, movie theatres and online is something everybody does these days but director and writer Madhureeta Anand choose a different place. The trailer launch of her upcoming movie ‘Kajarya’ happened at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The place has been significant in launching various social movements and that has been the major reason of selecting it as the venue for the movie which is based on the issue of female foeticide. ‘Kajarya’ has been to various film festivals round the globe and won the ‘Best Foreign Film Award’ at The Silk Road Film Festival in Xian, China.
The movie is a thriller showcasing two women from worlds unknown to each other, one modern world of Delhi and other a village in Haryana. It is a story of Kajarya, a village woman who sacrifices little girls in the name of religion to Goddess Kaali and Meera who is a story hungry reporter who exposes Kajarya to the world.
Movie is made with a strong message for a nation where girls are getting killed everyday. It is said to release on December 4, 2015.
