You read the word ‘sexuality’ in the title, and instantly you have a smirk on your face, and with a little annoyance, you think “what now” because you’re so tired of all the LGBTQ news crowding your news feed of late. Or perhaps it got the better of your curiosity, and you want to know what more could I possibly say about it?
Let me tell you – a lot. I personally hate labelling people based on who they are attracted to. But it is also important that we know the difference among the many kinds of sexual orientations. Because, though people’s sexuality isn’t all that is there to them, it IS an important part of what and who they are!
So you surely know about these:
1. Heterosexual – a person attracted to people of the other sex.
2. Homosexual – a person attracted to people of the same sex.
3. Bisexual – a person attracted to people from both his/her own sex and the opposite sex.
But do you know about these:
4. Asexual – a person who doesn’t experience sexual attraction.
5. Demisexual – a person who is only sexually attracted to a person s/he shares a deep emotional bond with.
6. Sapiosexual – A person sexually attracted to intelligence in others.
7. Greysexual – a person who is both asexual and sexual.
8. Demiromantic – a person who experiences romantic attraction only after a strong emotional connection is formed.
9. Polysexual – a person who can be sexually attracted to more than two genders, but not all genders.
10. Pansexual – a person who is sexually and romantically attracted to people from all the genders.
11. Gender Fluid – a person who can identify as being both male and female.
12. Skoliosexual – a person who is sexually attracted to gender fluid people.
13. Androsexual – a person who is sexually attracted to men.
14. Gynesexual – a person who is sexually attracted to women.
15. Lithoromantic – a person who is capable of feeling romantic attraction but doesn’t want it reciprocated.
