…because some movies teach you important lessons about life!
1. Dil Chahta Hai
Dil Chahta Hai is set in modern-day urban Mumbai and Sydney, and focuses on a major period of transition in the lives of three young friends. These friends were inseparable – until they each fell in love, and their wildly different approaches to relationships created tension. Dil Chahta Hai is a coming-of-age story which remains a vital part of everyone’s life, because it holds truth.
2. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
This film celebrates friendship like never before. The movie is about three friends who decide to turn their fantasy vacation into reality after one of them gets engaged. By leaving all the tension behind and just travelling, the characters taught us that life is all about experiences because you get to live just once.
3. Wake Up Sid
This movie shows what happens when a spoiled young ‘adult’ experiences a change in his lazy ways when he meets an older woman at a party, who inspires him to “wake up”.
4. Queen
Being in love and being dependant on someone is easy, but it takes real guts to stand on your own and face your problems. This awesome movie taught us how important is it to have your own spine. And by the way, this one movie is enough to make you love Kangana Ranaut!
5. Pyaar Ka Punchnama (Part 1 and 2)
This off-beat, but brilliant take on the bachelor life and modern-day couples is a must watch for anyone dealing with a quarter-life crisis. I bet every guy in his 20s would be able to relate to Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 & 2. These light-hearted comedy movies deal with friendship, women, boys’ weakness toward women, and the relationships of today.
I’m sure everyone must have watched the monologue given by Kartik Tiwari in the film, but if you haven’t then here you go:
6. Rock On!!
Rock On set a benchmark for Bollywood movies. It had friendship, fights and lots of rock music. This movie taught us that it’s never too late for friends to leave their ego behind and re-unite, and you never get old to do what you are passionate about.
7. Rang De Basanti
Rang De Basanti is a movie about six young friends who took the matters of public interest in their hands. It is a thought-provoking, soul-stirring wake up call to the youth of India.
8. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
This was one movie that had everything- friendship, one-sided love, dreams, romance, emotions, music, and a big-fat destination wedding. YJHD released in 2013 and it really struck a chord with youngsters. This movie is on the favorite list of many. If you haven’t watched it, you’re missing out on something really good.
9. 3 Idiots
In a country like India where the education system is all flawed, 3 Idiots taught us that if you chase excellence, success will automatically follow you. Also, it taught us how important is it to have a few idiots around you.
10. Shaitan
This thriller movie warns us about the dark side of youth. From drugs abuse-to accidents-to fake kidnapping, and then to fake friendships, this movie showed what happens when the inner demons come out. Shaitan is a must watch before you turn 25.
How many have you watched?
