In an elementary school in Saitama, Japan, lunch break is not just about eating food. The break is turned into a 45-minute educational period in which the students serve meals to their classmates inside the classroom, do full clean-ups after lunch, and also clean up the classroom and hallways. The students grow and peel their own vegetables on the school’s farm too. They even bring their toothbrushes to school to use after lunch.
In this video posted by CafCu Media, the menu for the day was- fish with pear sauce, mashed potatoes and five-vegetable soup. The food looks tasty and absolutely healthy.
It is so inspiring to see that students at this age are taught to eat healthy food, recycling used milk containers, being thankful to people who cook for them, and keeping themselves and their surroundings clean & healthy.
