‘Success is No Accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing.‘- Pele.
How often have we really considered doing what we cherish and making it a profession? More often than not, we are halted from doing those things and wind up doing what others need for us. Be that as it may, people who are energetic about their interests and seek after them without stressing, gets successful and are glad for whatever remains of their lives. One such example is Dipa Karmakar.
Dipa Karmakar is an artistic gymnast who represented India at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Dipa started practicing gymnastics when she was only 6 years old. She has been coached by Bisweshwar Nandi since. Her coach said that she was hard to train as she had flat feet which was not good for a gymnast. In 2007, she won the Junior Nationals in Jalpaiguri.
Karmakar is one of only five women who have successfully landed the Produnova, the most difficult vault currently performed in women’s gymnastics. She also won a bronze medal at the Asian Gymnastics Championships and finished fifth at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, both firsts for her country.
She is the first Indian female gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics. Dipa secured 7.000 on difficulty and 8.1 on execution in her first attempt. Her score for difficulty was a tad lower at 6.000 on the second attempt. In the other routines, Dipa secured 11.666 for her effort on the uneven bars, scoring low on difficulty but decent on execution. Later, Dipa scored 12.866 for her performance on the balance beam. The floor exercise fetched Dipa a score of 12.033, which also included a 0.300 penalty. She became the first Indian to make the cut for the individual vault finals in her debut Olympic Games after finishing 8th in the qualifying round here.
Olympics changed Dipa’s life. Her years of diligent work at long last paid off. This is the greatest and most essential jump of her profession. It could actually change whatever remains of her life. She is not terrified. She is sure about herself.
The whole point of this is if you really work hard and if you love what you do, nothing can stop you. You simply need to cross every one of the snags that come into your life. You simply need to have confidence in yourself. Have faith in what you can do and what you can accomplish.
