Most girls grow up dreaming of their marriages and their knights in shining Armour who will will take them away to a faraway paradise.
But for four-year-old Abby Sayles, her wedding day dreams came true on Thursday in an impromptu heart melting wedding ceremony being planned by her care team at the Melodies Center in Albany, New York with her favourite nurse, Matt Hickling.
Abby was diagnosed with leukemia last August when she was only three years old.
“It was tough for her when she first came here,” Hicking told CBS. “Being three when she was diagnosed, is something that’s tough for somebody.”
Mom Renee Sayles can’t thank enough the caring staff at the hospital who make things a lot easier for them and for Abby who undergoes all this trauma at such a tender age.
Adorned in a beautiful white dress and veil, Abby walked down an aisle covered with rose petals to meet her groom.
“Will you marry me?” she asks Hickling.
“Of course I’ll marry you!” he responds before hugging her and exchanging candy rings to seal their sacred vows.
