When we are in our 20s, our sole aim is to enjoy life as much as possible. We want to try new things, be different, eat everything that we love, which is the best part. But we know that with every best there come slightly salty things as well, which if ignored becomes sour and sometimes bitter! So besides enjoying our 20s, we should also train our minds to accept clean food. I know it will be a slow process but trust me, it’ll be worth it and the benefits will last a lifetime! So what should an ideal meal throughout the day look like? We have made this easier for you.
Early morning: Try to mold yourself into an early bird. Then start your day with a glass of warm water (not hot). This will help to maintain a clean system which is a very important step when it comes to immunity.
Breakfast: Ideally a breakfast, being the very first meal of the day should be finished by 8-8:30 AM. Protein and fiber rich foods like eggs, muesli, cornflakes, whole wheat oats, and fruits will provide you with that much-needed fuel to keep you going throughout the day. The high fiber content present in oats and fruits will help your digestive system stay in shape. Not only that, a big bite into fruits like apples and pears will help you strengthen and whiten your teeth. Isn’t it great?
Post breakfast: If you are feeling a bit hungry you can snack on seeds like sunflower, flax, chia or nuts, fruits, and occasionally dark chocolate! Yaas!
Lunch: For lunch, you can either choose a mono meal (a bowl of brown rice mixed with veggies and cereals, chicken etc), which is a pot full of everything or a thali of balanced diet (vegetables, curd, chapatis, dal etc). Remember to skip drinking water in between your meals because it can create a hindrance for digestive track to operate.
Dinner: Now when it comes to dinner you should have a filling yet a light meal. Chicken soups, broccoli soup, mixed vegetable and macroni salad, pasta-vegetable salad will be a great and clean option.
Drinking water
Water should be drunk throughout the day. You should sip water slowly and at a slow pace. Don’t drink in between meals there should be a gap of 45 minutes between water and every meal! Make sure that you drink filtered and clean, chlorine free liquid. 8 glasses of plain water every day will increase your life expectancy by a huge margin.
Exercise
Be an early bird, go out, soak sun, play badminton (or your fav sport), run, skip the rope, jog, walk on the dewy grass (Excellent for healing eyes, yes!) do anything which will consume your energy because the food we eat generates energy and that energy is meant to be spent on right things. Exercise, girls!
Summing up nutrition
Fiber is present basically in all plant-based vegetables and fruits, Good carbs like steamed rice, whole wheat chapati’s sweet potatoes are excellent energy producers.
