Every minute of the day, we lose about 30-40k dead skin cells from the surface of our skin; That’s about 4 kgms of dead skin cells per year. It is a continuous process, however in some cases, the oil secreted by our skin hardens and prevents dead cells from falling off. This results in a deposition of dead cells on our skins, which in turn leads to the formation of black heads, white heads and acne. It can also lead to dehydration and poor oxidation which can make the skin tone uneven, rough and blemished.
Through periodic exfoliation, one can remove dead skin cells deposits and can get a soft, smooth & polished skin.
Tips to remember-
Always clean your skin with water and pat dry, before exfoliating. Or, take a hot shower/steam bath. This will clean and open the pores of your skin.
Also make sure to not exfoliate more than 2-3 times a month.
