These days there are many DIY recipes that you can find on internet and girls are crazy about those. They make us feel good about our skin and keep us satisfied that we are doing something for it.
I have some of the weirdest DIYs like using a kind of glue to remove blackheads, I mean, would you seriously use a glue on your face???
So instead of going for dangerous DIYs and destroy your face, it is better to go to a salon for better help. Here are a few things, that you must not apply on your face at any cost!
1. Baking Soda
The texture of baking soda seems granular and thus, it feels as if, it would exfoliate our skin, but just go back to the days when you used to study science in class 8, our skin has a natural pH balance of 4.5 to 5, while baking soda is very alkaline with a pH balance of 9! So now you decide for yourself, would you go for it?
2. Lemon
When baking soda is high on pH, lemon is highly acidic with a pH of 2. So applying pure lemon on the face will mess with your skin on a great level! It can cause blistering, rashes and burns on your skin too, so try to avoid using pure citrus food on the skin.
3. Hairspray
Seriously! Some of the beauty obsessed people suggest to use this as a quick makeup setter, but you would use that? When you use in on hair and some of it comes on the face, it is okay but applying it directly on the skin is a big NO. It is extremely comedogenic and it will clog the hell out of your pores and dry out your skin like anything.
4. Toothpaste
You seriously need to stop using toothpaste on your acne or pimples. It is full of ingredients like peppermint, fragrance, peroxide, etc, which will tear up your skin and cause more damage than good!
5. Hot water
Hot water strips your skin of its natural oil and moisturisation, leaving it dry and flaky. While steaming looks like a good thing to do for a clean face, it will make your skin red and dry and may also cause irritation.
6. Sugar
Exfoliating lips with sugar is fine but using it on the face is not good. Its granules are far too abrasive for the sensitive skin. It will cause tiny micro tears and make skin red, irritable and inflamed.
