Holi is all about colors, get togethers and all the fun it brings along. We all love this vibrant and colorful festival. But after playing for hours and soaking ourselves in color and water, we sometimes hate this festival. Not because we did not enjoyed but that evil color is not ready to come off and your skin and hair are at their worse.
This Holi follow these skincare and hair tips to keep them healthy.
-
Skin
- Oil your skin well with olive oil, coconut oil, Vaseline or mustard oil. Oil acts as a barrier and prevents the colour from directly interacting with your skin. Do the oiling at least 20-25 minutes before you start.
- While playing most of the time is spent in the sun, so moisturise your body with sunscreen, especially behind your ears and ear lobes as these are areas one tends to neglect.
- Drink loads of water while playing as it keeps your skin hydrated.
- Wear long sleeved tops and full length bottoms in cotton. This will not expose your skin to a lot of colors and will also protect it from getting tanned.
- Don’t get waxing, threading, facial or other skin treatments 3-4 days before playing Holi
-
Hair
- Like skin, oil your hair well, from root to tip.
- To minimise the damage to hair, don’t keep them open. Braid them, tie them in a bun or a top knot to look sexy as well as save your hair.
- Tying a bandana is also a cool option. It looks funky as well as does the job of protecting your hair.
-
Nails
- Protect your nails by applying nail paint on them. This will stop the color from penetrating and your nails won’t get stained. Do this for finger and toe nails.
-
Lips
- Apply a lip balm generously as colors dry out your lips very quickly.
-
Eyes
- Do not wear lenses or glasses. If you cannot avoid glasses just be careful while playing.
- Keep a pair of sunglasses handy to protect your eyes from sun and harsh colors.
