1. Not wearing sun-screen
One of the main contributors to skin cancer is unprotected sun exposure. That is why, forgetting to wear sunscreen when you go out is a big no-no. So if you have this bad habit of not applying sunscreen to the exposed areas of your skin, change it right away.
2. Using tanning beds
The light tanning beds give off simulates sunshine and can lead to skin cancer. Though not much people use tanning beds in India, but for those who use – start using a self-tanning cream or spray instead of the dangerous tanning beds.
3. Not having fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients that promote healthy skin. They are also one of the best sources of antioxidants, which fight free radical damage, helping you ward off the cellular changes that can lead to skin cancer. So make sure you eat variety of fruits and vegetables every single day.
4. Having too much sugar
Eating too much sugar can lead to sagging and wrinkles as it interferes with skin health. Also, taking in too many sugar calories may result in weight gain. And, being overweight or obese puts you at a higher risk for cancer and other diseases.
5. Not making an annual appointment with your dermatologist
You should be seeing a dermatologist at least once a year for a full body check. If you get yourself checked every year, you’ll never have to worry about skin cancer getting beyond the point of no return.
