When the food smells so good and looks so delicious, it becomes very difficult to control your taste buds and ignore those food items. So many times we give in to the desire and eat unhealthy food.
You got late for work or college and scarfed down a burger for your hungry stomach, you go out with friends on weekends and you just can only avoid junk food at the risk of seeming too uptight!
And the next day you feel bloated or have a funny stomach. Fortunately new research from UCLA found that foods rich in docosahexaenoic acid, or DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid, may reverse some of the damage fructose triggers.
So here are a few food items that you can have to undo the damage done to your body by the unhealthy junk food:
1. Chia seeds
When you are feeling unwell after a day of unhealthy eating come to chia seeds and they will rescue you like prince Charming. They pack a wallop of omega-3s in just two tablespoons, and they’re loaded with fiber, which helps feed gut bacteria and aids in weight loss. The fiber also helps to eliminate toxins from your body. They are easy to prepare, just add them to your regular smoothie or yogurt or to any baked product and have them as you want.
2. Wild-caught salmon
The potential of this food is totally unmatched when it comes to the content of DHA. It protects the brain from inflammatory damage, improves learning and memory, and heals brain tissue injured by fructose. They are also a great source of selenium and vitamin D. And salmon is simple—cook it with butter, lemon, and dill for an easy, delicious meal. But Normal salmon is not that great as compared to wild caught, so make sure to have the later one.
3. Walnuts
Go nuts, literally, when you have a funny stomach or you feel bloated. Its 1/4 cup offers 133 percent of your recommended omega-3 content. This is one of the smart food choices. Add two ounces of walnuts into your daily diet and after 6 months you will notice that your junk food consumption has reduced. This is quite obvious because they keep you full and reduce craving.
4. Aloe-vera juice
This is one hell of a palatable cleanser that you can have after a day of unhealthy diet. It is a nutritional powerhouse, packed with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It may decrease intestinal inflammation and helps repair damage in the gut. It may also increase healthy bacteria in the intestines that aid in digestion so you can easily empty out when feel bloated
5. Fermented drinks
When you have had an overdose of sugar either through beverage or soda or alcohol, just have a probiotic. You can add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of lukewarm water or have a bottle of yakult. They will increase hydrochloric acid to help your digestion, and all those good gut bugs will help absorb and break down all that sugar you took in
