1. White Flour

White flour may seem a better option than whole wheat flour but the truth is opposite. White flour is stripped away of all fibres and antioxidants while its processing and thus may have a good taste and texture but is actually less on nutrient quotient.

2. Fruit Juice

Fruit juice(some) has, even more, sugar than your usual soda drinks. Some of the fruit juices are full of sugar, chemicals, food colourings and flavourings. When you get the juice out of fruits, the fibre is lost in them, so it is better to have whole fruit rather than going for juice. Corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, juice concentrate, maltodextrin, raw sugar and brown sugar are a few harmful ingredients that you must look out for in packaged fruit juices. For boosting metabolism, try to have lemon juice mixed in water.

3. Conventional Apples

Buying apples from normal stores (not organic) can be harmful because they might be infected by a certain type of fungicide that was proved to cause weight gain in mice. So the scientists think that same may happen with the human. So make sure you go for organic apples and wash them thoroughly before having them.

4. Omega-6 Fatty Acid

Omega-3 fatty acid is heart friendly and good for health while Omega-6 is the harmful one. In fact, Omega-6 is quite related to obesity plus it also promotes insulin resistance which turns many carbs into fat. So totally avoid food rich in omega-6 like butter, pork, chicken thighs and cookies.

5. Farmed Beef

Many cultures prohibit eating of beef and many have no problem with it. These are full of antioxidants that can harm the good bacterias in our body leading to weight gain. It not only widens your waist line but also harms your long term health.
