Dark knees become the nightmare for women as it makes them conscious about wearing skirts and shorts. The main reason behind this darkness is that the knees don’t contain any oil glands and this causes them to get dry easily. 1. Baking Soda and Milk
Baking soda is very effective in exfoliating the skin and reduces darkening of the skin. Milk bleaches and cleanses the skin. Take one tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with milk, then apply this paste on knees and scrub it using a circular motion.
Repeat the remedy once every two days.
2. Olive Oil and Sugar
Rubbing the paste, made by mixing olive oil and sugar in equal quantities, on the knees exfoliates and moisturizes them. Rub the mixture on your knees for five minutes. And then, wash using mild soap and water. You can do this twice a week.
3. Lemon and Honey
Lemon juice is the best natural bleaching agent and honey moisturizes the skin preventing further darkening. Apply the mixture of lemon juice (1 lemon) and honey on the knees, and remove it with water after 20 minutes.
4. Yoghurt and Vinegar
Apply the mixture of plain yoghurt and white vinegar (1 teaspoon each) on the knees and let it dry. Rinse it off with warm water, pat dry and apply a moisturizer. Do this daily, until you get the desired results.
5. Turmeric, Honey and Milk
Turmeric has antiseptic properties, honey moisturizes dry skin, and milk act as a bleaching agent. Apply the mixture of these three ingredients on the dark areas and let it be there for at least 20 minutes. Remove by scrubbing it with wet hands, and then wash the area with water.
6. Exfoilating Gloves or Pumice Stone
Rub the dark skin using exfoilating gloves/loofah, or a pumice stone. This helps to remove the dead cells of the skin. Use them while taking bath on moist skin, by scrubbing your knees in circular motion.
7. Gram Flour and Lemon
Gram flour or chickpea flour has a variety of vitamins, minerals, and proteins that make it act as an excellent exfoliant. Mix equal quantities of gram flour and lemon juice and stir it to make a paste. Apply it on knees and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash it with water. Do this regularly to get good results.
8. Coconut Oil and Lemon Juice
Coconut oil not only helps to soothe the skin, but it also acts as natural bleaching and a hydrating agent to get rid of dark knees. Mix 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice; Rub it on the knees and let it stay for 15-20 minutes. Use paper towels to remove it; Do not wash.

9. Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera Gel moisturizes the skin and reduces the sun damage caused to the skin due to overexposure of the knees to the sun. Extract the gel from a fresh aloe vera leaf, and apply it to your knees. Let is dry. Wash off with warm water after 20 minutes. This can be done twice daily.
