You can curl up with a book, lie on your back in a farm field, listen to the birds chirping, smell the grass or meditate in the open. Chamba Camp, Thiksey and Diskit are the best options.

Be greeted by the cheery Ladakhi women in traditional style. Settle in your gypsy canvas tent with rustic interiors, vintage four-poster beds, wooden chandeliers, private sit-out area with camp style chairs, comfy duvets to snuggle into and heated shower area.

The next thing you know, you are sipping a cup of butter tea with tsampa puli(cookies) and a dish of mok mok (momos).

The land which is about 12,000 ft above sea level is best to visit in midway May to September end, when weather is not too extreme.

It costs Rs58,000 per night for a couple, includes transfers to and from Leh airport, all meals and specific guided tour.
