Perhaps you have an old faithful bra which you wear under every possible dress, but did you know, there are styles that can transform you? Read on to find out more!
1. The Padded Bra
When I want to increase my bust size under a tight fitting tailored top or dress, I choose a padded bra. This bra’s cup can be light, medium or heavy padded with cotton, fibrefill, foam, gel, silicon or water. For a natural looking silhouette, the pads should be thicker at the base and diminish smoothly to the top.
2. The Push up Bra
Push up bras use foam, gel, water or air to lift the breast tissue higher, making them look bigger without adding extra volume. The cups are angled inward so that the breast tissue is pushed towards the centre, thus creating cleavage. A pad at the bottom of the cup is sometimes removable to give the bra more versatility
3. The Demi Cup Bra
Usually preferred by petite and average sizes, this bra style can enhance the cleavage and transform it into a luscious appearance by exposing the top half of the breast. The good news is that full figured women can wear it too, even if the demi style for large cups is not a true demi cup bra, but more of a mix between a demi and a balconette bra.
4. The Balconette Bra
Creates a square neckline which is great for wearing with low-cut tops. It showcases the décolletage and is idea for large and smaller busts as a universally flattering style.
5. The Plunge Bra
For those moments when you have to take the plunge….! It sculpts and shows off the cleavage with a low centre front and cut away cups. Often padded to boost the effect, the plunge is a must for all low neckline outfits.
6. The Plunging Bra with Convertible Straps
Ever since I discovered the convertible plunging bra, I’ve been rocking my asymmetric party dresses. Suitable for all cup sizes, this multi-purpose bra can be worn with all those clothes you’ve been hiding in the closet and that you love so much: tops, tanks, racer backs, halters, bandeau, halter neck dresses with low back cuts or plunging dresses.
7. The Strapless Bra
The definition of the strapless bra is obvious, but finding the right one that enhances the bust is more difficult than you can image. Buy a genuine bra, with deep under wires that stay in place and provide support and boning under the arms and/or in the cups.
8. The minimizer bra
If you have a large bust the minimiser bra makes the bust look smaller from the sides as it pushes breast tissue flat and to under your arms. This makes it ideal to wear with front-button shirts and blouses without worrying about gaping holes.
