Finally, all those a.m hours spent studying larger than you textbooks paid off. The even longer hours spent researching companies and sending out CVs also worked their magic, you got yourself a new job!
Before heading out to party, there are quite a few vital things you need to consider for keeping and succeeding at your new job.
Goal-setting
Set temporal realistic goals as to what achievements you’re expecting from yourself. When your first promotion will be given? How do you plan to work towards that goal? What sacrifices are you willing to make?
Having clear and practical career aspirations will make it easier for you to stick to them and eventually achieve them.
Work Hard
Setting a few goals is not enough, you need to focus and work hard on showing how hiring you was the right choice. Remember jobs are not permanent, and these days bosses need the tiny excuse to kick you out. Working hard oughts to be your very first goal, it will pay off both professionally and personally.
Education
Go after new things, learn all you can about your field and the careers niche in general. Being up to date will make it easy for you to rebound if you lose this one. Work on your less-than-perfect skills. Also, make sure you network as much as before so that you can grasp onto the next big opportunity should it reveal itself!
Show dedication and passion
What if your job is not a million-dollar one? You should still be grateful for even having one and make sure to let that show!
No company wants people who hate their jobs, they want those who are looking forward to it each day. Even if it’s a so-and-so job, try showing your interest, it does matter.
Be Smart Kind
Unless you want people to stumble upon your kindness you need to play it smart. Be the right amount of kind, as people often mistaken kindness with easily-exploitable. Don’t give them the pleasure of taking advantage of you.
Getting a new job might as well be as hard as trying to find one, if you got yourself one, do all things necessary for being the best you can in it!
