Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was the first Bollywood actor to have his wax statue placed in the Madame Tussauds museum in London in 2000. His statues were later installed in branches at New York, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Washington DC. Amitabh Bachchan, who is also considered the first Asian actor to achieve the feat, turned 74 recently.
Amitabh Bachchan was the first Bollywood personality to get a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, in London, UK, in 2000. Since then, statues of actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan, among others, have made their way into the reputed museum. It was reported in May that Bachchan’s wax figure will soon be tweaked and refurbished. Ask him what will change, and Big B says, “It will look how I look now. Perhaps, it will have the glasses as well. There will be a dress change too. The makers will also take my measurements to make some changes to the look.” The actor is personally looking into what the refurbished statue will wear now. “I am giving them some eight to nine options. They can keep changing (laughs),” adds the superstar.
