There are chemicals in the sanitary napkins which can cause multiple infections and diseases, including cervical cancer. These pads are also a threat to the environment. Every year, 42.6 million women in India disposes off over 7 million sanitary pads, which is a major concern as these pads are non-biodegradable and cannot be recycled.
